Week 22: Valentines Party/Seasons
Happy Valentine's Day! What a fun week! The children decorated their own box and then passed out Valentine's to each student. It was so much fun watching them give their friends a special handpicked Valentine. They also played bean bag toss, balance the sweetheart candies, and wrote something they loved and placed it on our heart tree.
Special shout out to Miles's mother and Austin's mother for coming and doing a craft/science experiment with the class. The students mixed shaving cream and different color water colors to make a colorful heart shape masterpiece.
Austin's mother created the handprints attached to the saying, "I love you this much!" (I wish I had better pictures to show!)
Valentine heart alphabet scavenger hunt! These heart letters where scattered throughout the room. The students took turns finding the letters. They had to either say the letter sound or something that starts with that letter.
The children learned about the four different seasons. We discussed what color the leaves are for each season. They used their fingerprints to paint the color leaves on each tree. Spring has pink leaves, summer has green, fall has orange, and winter has white representing snow.
We also sorted and talked about what holidays, weather, and clothing worn in each season.
Happy Birthday to Bentley and Everly! They share the same birthday. What a fun celebration!
