Week 19: Safety, Letter Review

The students learned different safety precautions throughout the week. They painted their own Stop, Drop, Cover, and Roll t-shirts. They used red, yellow, and orange paint to create the fire on their paper shirts. 

 I used a black sheet to represent smoke and the children practiced crawling under the smoke to safety. They were told to stay as low to the ground as possible since smoke always rises. 

The children learned what an emergency is and when to call 911. I had them role-play and answer questions that they are likely to hear. They also enjoyed taking turns pretending they were the dispatcher. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The students crinkled up yellow, red, and orange tissue paper to fill the 9-1-1. We sang a song to help us remember the number to call in an emergency. 

 

 The students used q-tips to write their name with paint.
